We have so many on-site activities, most guests feel no need to leave our hidden “Shangri-La”. If you need more exercise or adventure, our lodging is also close to many area activities and historical sites.
Enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking or a Missouri Black River float trip. Picnic and hike in Elephant Rocks State Park or Johnson’s Shut-ins State Park (swimming too). Trek along the Ozark Trail or up Taum Sauk Mountain, enjoying the scenery, exercise and fresh air.

Take the family to the Fort Davidson State Historic Site, learn about the Battle of Pilot Knob and picnic in the park. Full-scale Civil War reenactments of the Battle of Pilot Knob are staged, attracting thousands of visitors.
Every year, in March, whitewater enthusiasts from across the nation congregate for a weekend, to compete in the Missouri Whitewater Championships. Just 8 miles from the Missouri Whitewater State Championship Races, you can enjoy race day activities knowing you only have a short drive to lodging.
Also 3rd or 4th weekend in March: Mountain Bike enthusiast from all over descend on Arcadia Valley to watch and compete in the first leg of a National Enduro Race. The race(s) are held at our recently developed “Shepherd Mt Bike Park”. The new racecourse is being heralded as one of the top competitive courses in the nation. The trails are open year-round.
